The planned format: biologist–bioinformatician pairs working on lung cancer datasets provided by the organizers, with one shared goal — a co-authored scientific publication.
Real data, provided
The organizing team was to supply a lung cancer dataset. Each pair would have defined their analytical question together, with guidance from the YS2C team.
A concrete deliverable
The planned output was a scientific manuscript submitted to a peer-reviewed journal, with participants listed as co-authors.
Pair structure
Up to 6 pairs — 12 participants were planned.
Applications are closed
The Hackathon has been cancelled, but the rest of the YS2C 2026 programme goes ahead as planned. We hope to offer this format again in a future edition.
